Growth BRINGS POSITIVE CHANGE Welcome

"When one door closes, another opens (but it can be hell in the hallway)".

Nobody ever plans on experiencing emotional, mental, or behavioral disturbances. Therapy provides space to relax or rebuild defenses, heal emotional wounds or battle-scars, and adapt to life changes while building self-esteem.  Therapy can start you on the path of self-empowerment, discovery, and personal freedom.

My training is in visual art, clinical art therapy, marriage & family therapy, mental health therapy, and addiction counseling. I listen with my ears, my emotional intuition, and my eyes. Art therapy utilizes both left brain and right brain hemispheres, unlike talk therapy alone.  You do not have to be an artist, and every supply needed is provided or obtained.

"The only way out is through".

In therapy I can help you make sense out of the visual messages that emerge from your therapeutic art-making. Draw It Out Counseling Services aim to assist you in processing emotions resulting from abuse, depression, bipolar disorder, divorce, relationship drama, suppressed grieving, women's issues, men's issues, abortion, trauma, addiction, grief and loss, anxiety, neglect, and all forms of oppression.  Therapy can be life-affirming, and a form of emotional, behavioral, and mental "spring cleaning".

When conducting substance abuse counseling I use non-threatening, creative, and motivational approaches.  While no one can "make" another person stop using, sometimes solid non-judgmental support can foster a nest within which you can safely look at the truth from all angles.  Outpatient counseling can help build a bridge to recovery and more intense treatment if needed.

"No snowflake ever falls in the wrong place".  Zen Proverb
